Consultancy Services
Our staff and associates have extensive work experience as stratigraphers in the field of petroleum exploration and production consultancy, and provide the following services:
Routine Biostratigraphy
- Biostratigraphic analysis, lithological description, interpretation and correlation.
- Key disciplines provided: Micropalaeontology (including routine and thin-section analysis), nannopalaeontology and palynology across all stratigraphic intervals worldwide.
- High resolution reservoir scale biostratigraphic studies, integration with sedimentological, lithofacies and seismic data.
- Palaeoenvironmental modelling and interpretation.
- Application of biostratigraphic data to sequence stratigraphic models, through the use of chronostratigraphic data and biofacies interpretations, for integration with seismic data and sedimentological data for prospect evaluation.
- Stratigraphic experience covers all major intervals within the Cenozoic, Mesozoic and Palaeozoic across a wide range of palaeoenvironments and palaeogeographic areas.
- Biostratigraphic ‘Hotshot’ services.
Wellsite Biostratigraphy
We provide a full range of wellsite biostratigraphy services having a broad depth of expertise across the globe in all major basins and provide the following services:
- Provision of an experienced group of wellsite biostratigraphers (micropalaeontology, palynology, nannofossils) all with a minimum of 20+ years’ experience.
- Experience in exploration, development & appraisal well biostratigraphy, in a wide variety of geographic areas including the North-West Europe, North America, South America, Africa, Far East and the Middle East.
- Pre-drill review and analytical programme recommendations for the cost effective delivery of wellsite stratigraphy.
- Stratigraphic monitoring of exploration wells.
- Casing point, TD, and coring point decisions.
- Biosteering of development wells.
- Post-drill review and recommendations for ongoing project delivery and development.
Specialist Stratigraphic Services
We also provide the following additional services as required for specific projects:
- Review of client in-house data and the development and updating of existing biozonation schemes.
- Equity re-determination studies, including data preparation, interpretation, integration with equity teams and representation at equity meetings.
- Secondment to client offices, in the U.K. and overseas for data generation and integration with exploration / asset teams for the development sequence modelling for prospect evaluation.
- Preparation and delivery of technical courses in client offices.
- Presentation of data within client offices.
- Strontium Isotope analysis (SIS).

Geological Fieldwork
We have extensive work experience in the research, sample collection and recording of field sections as subsurface analogues for exploration projects and are able to provide the following consultancy services:
- Pre-study remote site investigation of potential field locations, including the review of existing historical geological data.
- Advice and itinerary planning for fieldtrip programmes.
- Provision of experienced staff to lead fieldwork including detailed outcrop logging and sample collection to ensure the effective data collection whilst in the field.
- Post fieldwork geological analysis (biostratigraphy & isotope analysis).
- Integration with sub-surface data.
